About PlantUptime
Technical maintenance guides written by engineers, for engineers. No advertising fluff, no paywalls, no "10 things you didn't know about pumps" listicles.
What we do
PlantUptime publishes accurate, practical guides on industrial equipment maintenance across seven technical disciplines: air compressors, pumps, electric motors, material handling, predictive maintenance, lubrication & bearings, and maintenance strategy.
Every article is written to answer a specific technical question that a plant maintenance engineer or reliability engineer actually faces. We cite standards (ISO, IEC, NEMA, ASME), include worked examples, and provide printable checklists where appropriate.
Who writes our content
Our content is produced by engineers with hands-on industrial maintenance experience and cross-checked against published standards and OEM documentation. We do not publish sponsored content, affiliate-linked "best of" roundups, or manufacturer press releases disguised as guides.
We acknowledge when information is our interpretation of published standards — and we always cite the source.
What we cover
- Air compressors — rotary screw, reciprocating, VSD, dryers, receivers, energy efficiency, leak detection
- Pumps — centrifugal, positive displacement, pump curves, TDH, NPSH, cavitation, seal failure
- Electric motors — IE efficiency classes, insulation class, bearing greasing, testing, rewind decisions
- Material handling — belt conveyors, hoists, maintenance checklists, design guides
- Predictive maintenance — vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ISO 10816, CBM programme design
- Lubrication & bearings — failure analysis, greasing procedures, grease selection, L10 life, bearing types
- Maintenance strategy — RCM, OEE, KPIs, MTBF/MTTR, root cause analysis, PM design
